Anger isn't a substitute for facts

The opinion page has likely become a source of levity for many of us; its just hard not to giggle at the writers who work themselves into such a lather over a president not to their liking. I'd enjoy this forum even more though if it were used for responsible discussions. Thus, I sometimes feel compelled to respond to the foolishness because allowing it to go unanswered might be mistaken for approval.
The following insights were offered in the Sunday letter titled “His blame game harming the country”: 1) “Every time I look in my paper or listen to the news, I see another crisis engineered by the current occupant of the White House, so he can have something else to blame on the Republicans. 2) “It is obvious that he is doing his very best to destroy the country.” It seems extremely improbable (and impractical) to me that the president has “engineered” any crisis. Likewise, I fail to understand how it could possibly be in his best interest to purposely “destroy the country.” I will patiently await any “evidence” which would prove me wrong. In the absence of such proof, however, the writer will have essentially accused a fellow citizen of being evil on no other basis than the desire to do so. Furthermore, considering the criticism and blame that the president has been subjected to since day one, it's the height of hypocrisy to attack him for reciprocating. By all means Sir, “God bless and help America” indeed!
