Halibut

 June 7 was the final day of recreational halibut fishing around here, and a good season ended on a positive note.

State checks showed 166 anglers at the Ediz Hook ramp in Port Angeles with 39 halibut. At the Cornet Bay ramp, it was 165 with eight halibut and 10 lingcod. At the Washington Park ramp in Anacortes, 131 with four halibut, 12 lings and six cabezon. And at the Port of Everett ramp, 124 with four halibut and four lings.
