Murphy hires Erin Edmondson as new swim coach

Archbishop Murphy has hired Erin Edmondson as the new head coach of the boys and girls swim and dive teams.

Edmondson has coached for over 20 years, most recently at Trinity Lutheran College. She has also worked in the Lake Stevens School District for almost 10 years.

“Erin showed the interview committee a great enthusiasm for swim and towards coaching the sport,” said Archbishop Murphy athletic director Alex Crane in a press release. “Her focus on developing skills as well as hard work, honesty and integrity will serve the swimmers and divers of Archbishop Murphy High School well.”

Edmondson replaces Mike McCloskey, who started the Wildcats’ swimming program in 2008. McCloskey and Archbishop Murphy won its second-consecutive boys state championship this past season.
