GOP principles are to live by

In response to the letter, “How can poor vote Republican?”: Republicans are ordinary people, rich and poor, and those in between. Most Republicans that I know are god-fearing, hard-working, honest and sincere Americans, regardless of their social status. They take pride in what they are doing. They do not want government handouts or interference by governmental agencies. The 10 states the writer refers to are states that don't have a lot of big industries. We call it the Bible Belt, where people put their faith and trust in God an a large scale, my hat goes off to them.
Compare that to California, a very liberal state which is run by Democrats and has not only moral problems, but big financial problems as well. Remember, we are still a republic, not a socialist state, even though it may seem that way at times. What we need is more conservatives who represent the true American spirit of George Washington based on God's leading, honesty and integrity, love and respect for our fellow men and our country. I believe with all my heart that we patriots can take our country back. I am reminded of the great American hero Patrick Henry when he so eloquently shouted out the words, “Give me liberty or give me death.”
