EVERETT — Wal-Mart is hiring 200 people to staff its new store planned to open this fall across the street from the Everett Mall.
A temporary hiring center has opened at 909 SE Everett Mall Way, Suite D480. Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
People may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
Wal-Mart will hire full- and part-time workers. As part of its Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months, although the veterans also have to meet the company’s standard hiring criteria.
The majority of the employees will begin their jobs in August to help prepare the store for its opening.
The 90,000-square-foot store is located at 1605 SE Everett Mall Way. It’s occupying the former Top Foods supermarket at 1605 SE Everett Mall Way. Wal-Mart bought the property about four years ago for $10 million.
Wal-Mart has only has one other store in Everett, located in the south part of the city along Highway 99. This will be the seventh Wal-Mart in Snohomish County.
The most recent one to open was a 147,000-square-foot superstore in Marysville last year.
