Front Porch: Friends of the Edmonds Library to meet

Friends of the Edmonds Library will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday for coffee, followed by a program meeting at 1:30 with guest speaker Rowena Miller.
Miller will discuss the work of the children's service committee of the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County.
The meeting will beheld in the upstairs Plaza Room at the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St. Admission is free.

Darrington Day: The annual Darrington Day Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 31.
There will be music and a craft market in Old School Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., historical walks, business specials including pulled pork sandwiches, an art show at Mansford Grange and more. Signs will be posted showing events.

Arts preview: Edmonds Center for the Arts' season preview event Thursday evening is an opportunity to meet the center's executive director, Joe McIalwain, and learn about the upcoming season, including a new family series and summer programs.
The lobby opens at 5:30 p.m. The event begins at 6 in the theater.
Edmonds Center for the Arts is at 410 Fourth Ave. N.
