Marysville: City wins sixth WellCity AwardThe Association of Washington Cities Employee Benefit Trust, an insurance pool for municipal employees, has given Marysville its sixth WellCity Award for its workplace wellness program. Marysville offers its staff several health and fitness programs and seminars, and encourages employee participation in sports.
The award means Marysville will receive a 2 percent premium discount on Group Health Cooperative and Regence BlueShield medical coverage for employees and spouses in 2015, saving the city approximately $74,000.
Snohomish: Public hearing for senior facilityA public hearing on a Seattle developer’s proposal to open an assisted-living facility for seniors on Avenue E ihas been set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Gorge Gilbertson Boardroom, 1601 Avenue D.
Chris Koh, of Coho Real Estate in Seattle, has long been trying to find a use for the vacant building. He previously proposed compact housing units known as “apodments” and a 25-bed senior home.
The hearing is limited to discussion on how many people can live at the facility and if staff should be allowed to reside on site.

Monroe: Workshop set for plan updateThe city of Monroe is updating its comprehensive plan with policies and projects set for the next 20 years.
Ideas related to parks, shorelines and recreation are expected to be included. A public workshop on the plan is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Park Place Middle School, 1408 W. Main St.
