Glacier Peak's Nicole Fausey goes up fora shot during a game this season.

When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
Where: Everett C.C.
Records: Glacier Peak 21-2; Mercer Island 14-9
AP rank: Glacier Peak 2nd; Mercer Island NR
Scoreczar rank: Glacier Peak 3rd; Mercer Island 26th
Key wins: Glacier Peak—Inglemoor, Bellevue, Shorecrest (twice), Everett, Mountlake Terrace (twice), Ferndale; Mercer Island—Lake Washington (twice), Bellevue, Liberty-Renton (twice).
How they got to regionals: Glacier Peak beat Mountlake Terrace in the District 1 championship game to earn the district's No. 1 seed. Mercer Island lost to Blanchet in the District 2 third-place game to earn the district's No. 4 seed.
Players to watch: Glacier Peak—Taylor Baird, P; Nicole Fausey, P; Sarah Smith, G; Natalie Rasmussen, G; Mercer Island—Jess Blakeslee, G/F; Julia Blumenstein, G; Taylor Krause, F.
Breakdown: Mercer Island finished tied with Bellevue for third in Kingco 3A/2A and then battled through the Sea-King tourney before falling to Blanchet in the third-place game. "I think we're a little bit mentally drained," MI assistant coach Austin Yuen told the Mercer Island Reporter after the Blanchet game. They don't get any kind of reprieve with Glacier Peak today. Besides a hiccup in the middle of the season, Glacier Peak has been dominant this season. The Grizzlies, who lost to Shorewood and Mountlake Terrace in back-to-back games in early January, didn't just beat a bunch of cupcakes. Glacier Peak beat both current fifth-ranked teams in 4A in 3A in Inglemoor and Bellevue, respectively, in the first week of the season, and tore through a tough Wesco schedule to win the 3A South and the District 1 tournament. With just two players over 6-foot, Mercer Island could have trouble trying to contain Baird (6-foot-4) and Fausey (6-foot-5).
