Eye-opener

Let’s not talk about the food: Seeking to compete with McDonald’s, Taco Bell will soon roll out a new breakfast menu. “We can turn the breakfast conversation into a two-horse race,” Taco Bell President Brian Niccol says.

After which the horses will be turned into breakfast burritos and dusted with Doritos powder.

--

Gag reflex: Speaking of breakfast, here’s a bit of medical news that might make some readers lose theirs: The odor of ear wax may be an indicator of health problems that include cancer (Page B2).

There also may be a connection between ear wax and diet — specifically, ear wax that smells like breakfast at Taco Bell.

--

Nice little website you got there: Netflix has agreed to pay protection money to Comcast to ensure shows like “House of Cards” will stream without maddening pauses over the cable giant’s broadband network. The deal could mean higher rates down the line for Netflix subscribers .

Which proves that while Frank Underwood may be a Machiavellian politician on Netflix, he obviously works for Comcast.
