Associated Press
SEATTLE -- A Kirkland woman has been sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison for driving under the influence of alcohol and a prescription drug in a crash that killed an elderly woman.
The Seattle Times reported that 43-year-old Kelly Ann Hudson was sentenced Friday. She earlier pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless driving. She admitted she had been drinking and had taken medication before the Aug. 7, 2012, crash that killed Joyce Parsons, 81.
A tearful Hudson apologized in King County Superior Court before she was sentenced.
Prosecutors say three other people in a car with Parsons were critically injured.
