Sounder train

Will taxes depart along with cars?

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY
Regarding the article, "Sounder to pull cars from north line, send them south": We, the taxpayers in Snohomish County, can only assume that the removal of cars on the commuter trains between Everett and Seattle will not mean any reduced financial support of the train service to the north. In the minds of the Sound Transit Board, reducing taxes when service is reduced just isn't an option, even though there will be a reduction in operating costs of the north-end trains and increased revenue from the trains between Pierce County and Seattle. Taxing districts only raise taxes. They just don't give back to the taxpayers who keep them in business. That's just the way governmental agencies operate.
