Voters in Lynnwood returned their ballots slowly apparently.
The rate of returned ballots in Lynnwood lagged behind the countywide rate early on despite having a four-way primary contest for mayor, a four-way contest for an open city-council seat and three-way contests for two other council positions.
Last Thursday, only 9.98 percent of Lynnwood voters had returned their ballots, compared to a countywide average of 11.49 percent.
By Election Day, Lynnwood had a ballot-return rate of 16.77 percent, just below the countywide rate of 16.93 percent.
Unincorporated areas of Snohomish County Fire District 1, with one primary contest, had a Tuesday return rate of 12.82 percent compared to last week's rate of 8.57 percent.
