Front Porch: It’s time for Tour de Terrace

Tour de Terrace
Tour de Terrace, a Seafair-sanctioned event, kicks off at 6:45 p.m. Friday with the 20th Annual Tour de Terrace Parade, featuring the Seattle Police Motorcycle Drill team. This year's grand marshal is Danny Bonaduce, radio disc jockey and actor most known for his role as Danny on "The Partridge Family." The parade travels north along 56th Avenue West from 234th Street to Evergreen Playfield.
Come and see the parade roll down "Main Street" with fan favorites, including the Seafair pirates and clowns, Lake City Western Vigilantes, drill teams, dancers, floats, trucks and classic cars.
In addition, Tour de Terrace has live music and entertainment on the main stage, a beer garden, food booths with American and international selections, a pancake breakfast, street fair and carnival. On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there's a classic car, truck and motorcycle show, and fireworks starting at 10 p.m.
The Mountlake Terrace 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Mountlake Terrace High School. The race benefits local schools. Fee is $25; $20 for children. Kids under 5 years old participate for free. Please visit, search for "Mountlake Terrace 5K" to register.
Tour de Terrace runs noon-11 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
