MONROE -- Busy Bee Quilters plans to display more than 200 quilts of all types and styles -- including the 1989 Snohomish County Centennial quilt -- this weekend.
The show is planned from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Road. Admission is $5; kids younger then 12 are free.
The guild will display quilts made using a variety of techniques. There will be demonstrations of quilt techniques and styles. Other events include a "Play on Words" quilt challenge and a raffle, where the winner will take home a quilt named "A Touch of Spring."
People will also be on hand to talk about charity quilt programs that benefit the community and Seattle Children's Hospital and Harborview Medical Center.
The Busy Bee Quilters guild meets twice on every third Thursday of the month at The Bridge Church, 2500 Lake Ave, Snohomish.
Day meetings are held from noon to 3 p.m., and focus on social gathering and handwork with a short business meeting, most times followed by a special program or speaker. Evening meetings the same day run from 7-9 p.m.
