Seems Like Yesterday

Red Cross Learn to Swim classes were in full swing at City Beach on Silver Lake. Betty Hall, one of the instructors, worked with beginners with the barest rudiments of the water sport, while instructor Susan Walsh worked with a group on diving.

The Rev. Thomas R. Howard, Mission Church, Marysville, was cited as one of Everett's better drivers in a week-long search for good drivers. The Rev. Howard was pulled over by Officer Mike Lewis after being followed two or three miles.

When the NASCAR Motorcraft 500 started today for the fourth straight year at Evergreen Speedway, area auto racing fans could thank the efforts of a hard-driven county family.
