New music program in Everett
Sets In The West, a new summer concert series, kicks off Wednesday. Preacher's Wife, of Everett, will play at 5 p.m. and Shelby Earl, of Seattle, will go on around 6 p.m.
The shows are to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays until Sept. 11 at the new Wetmore Theater Plaza.
Shows are free and all ages are welcome. There will be a food and beverages available for sale.

Join AquaRun 2013: Are you a runner, walker or just love the sport? Here's your chance to participate in a 5K, 10K or even a Kid's Fun Run on July 27. The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m., the 10K at 8:40 a.m., and the Kid's Fun Run starts around 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Stevens High School stadium, 2908 113th Ave NE.
T-shirts are guaranteed with online registration, which ends July 22. Registration the day of the event begins at 6:30 a.m. at the stadium for all the runs. To register, or for more information, go to

Sand sculpting contest: Form a team or build a sand sculpture on your own. This fun, free, amateur contest in Edmonds is open to all ages. The contest runs from 10 a.m. to noon July 23 at Marina Beach, 650 Admiral Way South. Sign up the day of the event, and remember to bring buckets and shovels.
