Ahoy there

Whatever floats your boat: Learn the basics of seamanship in free seminars put on by the Everett Sail and Power Squadron. The classes will cover knot-tying, chart-reading, the rules of the road, and how to navigate safely on lakes and rivers.

For a fee, The Buzz offers to teach the following advanced boating skills: How to break the news to your spouse you bought a boat, how to convince the finance company that the boat payment's in the mail, and how to pump out the holding tank without spotting your boat shoes.

Speaking of boat payments due: Women, especially those who appear to know absolutely nothing about cars, are more likely than men to get ripped off on car repairs, a new study finds.

But women were also more successful in negotiating the price down -- especially those who have heard Click and Clack on NPR recommend baking brownies for the repair shop crew.

Let's see: remake of juvenile 1950s Western TV show, some no-name in the title role, cringe-inducing racial impersonation by Johnny Depp with a dead bird on his head ... what could go wrong?
