YAKIMA -- A collision that injured two people on a motorcycle in the Yakima River Canyon involved a marked Kittitas County sheriff's patrol car.
The Washington State Patrol said Deputy Mark Rickey was making a U-turn Saturday on Highway 821 near Selah when he collided with the motorcycle.
The deputy was not injured. A Selah couple on the cycle, 24-year-old Donald Sadler and 25-year-old Mahannah Sadler, were taken to a Yakima hospital. A friend told Yakima Herald-Republic the two are recovering from broken bones.
Three other motorcycles in a group had passed the patrol car before it started to turn in front of the Sadlers' motorcycle.
No citations have been issued. The State Patrol is investigating.
