YAKIMA, Wash. -- A man who sold counterfeit air bags from China on the Internet pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Yakima to conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods.
Prosecutors are recommending a 2-and-a-half year prison sentence for 34-year-old Jason Jordan of Moxee. He also has to pay a judgment and fine totaling more than $544,000.
Jordan was arrested in October when Customs agents intercepted shipments headed to his address.
Officials say counterfeit vehicle air bags are untested and unsafe.
