The coaching wait continues

The only activity going on at the Silvertips office today was looking out the window at the procession for Washington State Patrol trooper Sean O'Connell's funeral. There are no preparations being made for a press conference to introduce a new head coach, meaning the wait goes on for at least another week.

Apparently there's some kind of league meetings taking place early next week. Therefore, an announcement won't be coming until late next week at the earliest.

All of which complicates things for me personally. As many of you know, my other beat is covering the Everett AquaSox minor-league baseball team. Well, next week just happens to be the week the Sox arrive for the Northwest League season, which begins next Friday. Having been in this business for a while, I suppose I should have expected those two things to converge. It's going to be a busy week ...
