I-5 bridge

Ask tribes to kick in for freeway fix

I see where Gov. Inslee is floating the idea of raising the state gas tax by 10 cents per gallon. This increase is deemed necessary to pay for a new bridge across the Skagit River on I-5.
Who are the enterprises that make tons of money on Canadians coming down I-5 on shopping and gambling jaunts? I am talking about the various tribal casinos, and the various big box stores and outlet stores paying rent to the Tribes.
Our governor and state legislative leaders should be twisting some arms here for financial help. Of course, I realize that the Democrats are weaklings when it comes to negotiating with the Tribes.
