EVERETT -- Matthew Butler went 3-for-3 with an RBI and allowed two runs over 62/3 innings to earn his fourth win of the season as Cascade evened the three-game series against Kamiak with a 4-2 win over the Knights on Wednesday.
Butler walked the leadoff hitter in the seventh before retiring the next two hitters but could not get the final out. Kamiak loaded the bases on a hit batter and Jacob Long's single, forcing Cascade coach Scott Stencil to bring in KJ Brady. Brady induced a routine fly ball to left field to end the game.
"(Brady's) our Friday starter, but he came to me in the sixth and said he could give me an inning," said Stencil. "I wanted Butler to get the complete game, but he ran into some trouble."
After being shutout by Kamiak on Tuesday, Cascade finally broke through with four runs in the third. Three of the four came with two outs on Butler's RBI base hit and Austin Pinorini's two-run single that glanced off the glove of a Knights outfielder.
Ian Hughes went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored, while Long finished 3-for-3 and scored the Knights' second run.
