Man's gracious gift part of great day

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY
Last Saturday I was in town for the Everett Civic Music Association concert. I allowed time before the 2 p.m. concert to shop stores on Colby and have a leisurely lunch at The Totem restaurant on Rucker Avenue. When I gave my server money to cover my bill, she returned my money, saying a gentleman had paid for my lunch. I looked at her in disbelief and awe -- this gracious person told her I reminded him of his grandmother and he misses her. A compliment like that, good food, memorable concert, shopping and free lunch. Was that a great Saturday afternoon, or what?
I thank this person and want you to know I will "pay it forward" for someone I do not know. You made several people at The Totem restaurant feel like it was a good day.

Edith Hansen
