Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1963)

Blacksmith Rasmus P. Jensen, 81, died at his Lakewood home yesterday. He learned the trade in Denmark at age 15 and continued to demonstrate hand-tooled methods the rest of his life. Jensen opened his shop in English (now Lakewood) in 1908.

The new manager of the Goodyear Service Store at 2801 Rucker Ave. was Glen Grodem. He started with Goodyear in Everett as a trainee and later worked in the Northgate and Renton stores. Grodem was a graduate of Edmonds High School and Whitman College. His wife, Gail, taught in the Edmonds School District.

25 years ago (1988)

Sally White Roseman, now of California, wanted to drum up interest in a 60th reunion of the Everett High School Class of 1928. She shared her Los Angeles address asking anyone interested to drop her a line.

Lynda Geddis stepped into a limousine, headed to Sea-Tac International Airport and boarded a jetliner to New York, where she attended an exclusive Michael Jackson concert. Just an average day for a John Fluke employee who happened to be one of the winners of a Pepsi Cola-KFOX contest.
