Rail line

County only stands to lose

Regarding the Monday article, "Activists want Snohomish-Bellevue rail line to stay": The wreckers are coming.
This rail idea is how our county will be ruined for good and all. In a few years, when it's all over, there will be trains running 24/7/52, the dirt from Bellevue's light rail tunnel will be deposited next to the KRKO property and mounded high to provide a parking lot for Microsoft employees coming in from along Highway 2.
Of course, with all the "easy access" to Bellevue, the Master Builders, real estate speculators and agents will have a field day. Target stores, WalMart SuperCenters and houses beyond counting will grow from the Snohomish rail terminal like a cancer.
The King County interests consider Snohomish County to be nothing but an excrescence of Kemper Freeman's fundament. We exist to be exploited and debauched so some pasha in his Bellevue tower can upgrade his stogies from Swisher Sweets to Bolivars, and get that new Bentley for which he has hankered so long.
From the tone of the comments following the article, Bellevue's stooges have their letter-writing machine going full blast. They are trying to bluff our representative into believing their cockamamie scheme is the "public will." Which is arrant rubbish.
The wreckers are coming, folks, and unless we become active in our own affairs, Snohomish County will become another Federal Way.
