Armageddon requires firearms

I get why some gun rights advocates are against all gun regulations, especially those that might help the government protect us from each other.
It is because these people are generally anti-government, anti-tax. They believe climate change is a farce and they see themselves as having higher morals than most Americans, especially liberals.
They understand a bankrupt government will not be able to protect them. Already many dangerous criminals go unprosecuted; prison terms are shortened and with guns so easily accessible they know over worked and under-funded police officers will not protect them from marauding bands of armed criminals that will one day be wandering from sea to shining sea.
As climates shift and crops are laid waste by drought and the oceans' acidity rises to the point where the world's fish stocks collapse due to fossil fuel combustion, they know they will need to band together into the militias the Second Amendment is so often quoted for to protect what little food and resources there will be from the starving masses of humanity.
It also makes sense as to why they are in favor of helping the rich accumulate the greater share of this country's wealth because it will take a concentration of resources in the hands of a few to enable mankind's survival in "the end times."
And as devout as they are they will be most proud of the opportunity to be a hero for the righteous when Armageddon sweeps us all off our feet.
Ken Hansen
