Time for stricter reading of right

I'm a life member of the NRA, 40 years-plus, but I'm appalled at the solutions the NRA has come up with for the uncontrollable gun problems in our country.
Their only solution to the problem is to arm school teachers, or station police officers at every school in our country. Huh, what's next? Do we station police officers at every mall, theater, sports events, parks, etc. How dumb can that be. Their solutions are no solutions at all.
They just don't get it. Guns kill people. People use them as a means.
Has anyone out there even read the Second Amendment?
It was written in 1791 when we needed a militia to defend ourselves.
We now have an Army, Navy and Air Force. We have police departments in every city. We have U.S. Marshals and the National Guard for this purpose.
We don't need thousands of armed gun-crazy individuals running around.
The grounds on which the NRA stand on no longer apply. Wise up America
