Front Porch: Conservation District plant sale

The Snohomish Conservation District is accepting orders for its 2013 plant sale.
The annual sale helps property owners acquire inexpensive native trees, shrubs, groundcovers and erosion-control plants.
Flowering perennials and plants for hummingbird gardens, rain gardens and backyard habitat are sold both during the online pre-sale and at the general sale in March. Orders will be taken online through Feb. 18 at
Online ordering is new this year as well as a newly designed color brochure and payment via Paypal, Visa and debit cards. People also can buy gift certificates.

The general sale is to be held at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe on March 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free holiday puppet shows: The Everett Public Library will host a trio of holiday puppet plays at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdayat the Evergreen Branch, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett.
The free performances include "The Snow Child," "It's December 24th!" and "The Hanukkah Guest." Children can meet the puppet performers after the show.
All ages are welcome.
