Special lottery will help benefit veterans program

It's a winning situation, even if you don't win.
The Veterans Raffle by the Washington Lottery is giving away a $1 million jackpot and helping veterans.
Money raised goes to help returning veterans through the Veterans Innovations Program, run by the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (
The agency assists National Guard, Reserve and veterans who served on active duty, and their families.
The $10 tickets went on sale Monday (Veterans Day). You can buy them through Jan. 1 at lottery retailers.
Only 200,000 tickets will be sold. The winner takes $1 million. There also are 30 $1,000 prizes and 100 prizes of $100.
