Associated Press
PORT ANGELES -- It will be a dramatic change of scenery for the new superintendent of Olympic National Park on Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
Sarah Creachbaum has been superintendent of Haleakala National Park on the Hawaiian island of Maui since 2009. Before that, she was superintendent at War in the Pacific National Historical Park on the island of Guam and American Memorial Park on the island of Saipan.
At Olympic, Creachbaum replaces Karen Gustin, who retired in March after more than 30 years with the National Park Service.
Creachbaum said she's thrilled to work at Olympic. She'll begin work there this fall.
Her National Park Service career also includes stops at Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.
