BOTHELL -- Detectives are looking for witnesses who saw a traffic stop Tuesday in Bothell that led to gunfire and a wild chase.
That afternoon, a Bothell police officer fired one shot from his service firearm after the driver of a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am allegedly tried to hit him with his car, according to court records.
Joseph Medoro, 31, of Duvall, later was arrested after a manhunt and booked for investigation of assault and attempting to elude police. Prior to the chase, the ex-convict already was wanted on a warrant for escaping custody of corrections officials.
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team -- also known as SMART -- is asking anyone who might have seen the shooting incident to call the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845.
SMART is a group of detectives from around the county assigned to probe officer-involved shootings.
