MARYSVILLE -- Detectives still are investigating how two people died at their Marysville mobile home last week.
Marysville police are following up on leads and awaiting autopsy reports from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said Tuesday.
"They are not ready to say with certainty what exactly happened yet," he said.
About 9 a.m. Friday, police were called to the Glenwood Mobile Estates park in the 5900 block of 64th Street NE.
An 82-year-old man told them he had found his wife, 69, and their grandson, 26, dead in the living room. The bodies had obvious signs of trauma, police said.
Detectives have interviewed the grandfather, but they aren't disclosing details from those conversations at this time, Lamoureux said.
They also won't say what evidence may have been collected at the home.
Washington State Patrol crime scene specialists helped process the scene, Lamoureux said.
"With a death investigation, it's imperative that we process the crime scene with great detail and then we follow up physically, as investigators, with other leads or information that supports what a crime scene tells us," he said.
Police believe the grandson recently had moved in with his grandparents after living in Florida, where he had been under law enforcement supervision for a criminal offense.
The medical examiner's office on Monday said it is conducting scientific tests to confirm identification before releasing the names of the dead.
