Culinary event showcases the top chefs of Whidbey

Slow Food Whidbey Island will host Taste of Whidbey 2012, an opportunity to sample the cooking of Whidbey Island's top chefs.
Visitors receive 10 tastes of food, wine or beer with the purchase of a ticket. People still hungry or thirsty for more can buy more tastes for $2..
Local samples will be provided by island businesses including the Braeburn Restaurant, Christopher's on Whidbey, Ciao!, Fraser's Gourmet Hideaway, Gordon's on Blueberry Hill, the Oystercatcher, Prima Bistro, Tree Top Baking, Useless Bay Cafe, Flyer's Restaurant and Brewery, Holmes Harbor Winery, Useless Bay Wines and Whidbey Island Winery.
The event will be from 3 to 5 p.m. June 3 at Freeland Hall, 1515 Shoreview Drive, Freeland.
