EVERETT -- A man presumed to have drowned in Port Gardner on Monday has been identified as Richard L. Irby Jr., 49, of Everett.
Irby was on a 12-foot boat with another man near Jetty Island off the Everett waterfront on Monday when the boat capsized, officials said.
The second man, also 49, of Everett, was found by other boaters and survived.
Rescue crews spent days searching the water for Irby without success. His boat was recovered Tuesday.
The cause of the capsizing remains under investigation, and additional details have not been released.
Irby's family has asked for privacy.
