Is your child bouncing off the walls in anticipation of a birthday, but bouncing around in your head is, "How much will this set me back?"
If you're looking to have a kids party at a place that offers huge inflatable bouncy houses and castles and slides, there are a number of local options.
Some of these party palaces will do everything for you, from sending out the invitations and hanging decorations to ordering the pizza. Some merely provide the facility and you do the rest.
It all depends on how much you want to spend.
You could save even more by renting an inflatable and having the party at home.
So party on:
Forest Park Swim Center
800 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett; 425-257-8309;
The center has a 50-foot inflatable obstacle course with a slide, a gaping hole called a pond and a sheer face to shimmy across. Think of the TV game show "Wipeout" without the shaving cream.
You can rent the pool deck and inflatable for an hour and a half on a Saturday or Sunday for a party of up to 50 for $169. Only the swim center facility and inflatable are covered in that cost; you provide the food, decorations and cake.
The inflatables are recommended for ages 6 and up; younger children must have an adult within arm's reach.
Check out the inflatable in action during the center's open swim on Friday nights.
Jump Planet
22310 20th Ave. SE, Suite 200, Bothell; 425-481-5867;
Jump Planet offers 11 inflatable games that fill up two huge play arenas, including 22-foot slides, 35-foot-long obstacle courses, 24-foot-wide bouncer mazes and huge jump structures for all ages.
There's also a baby bouncer for 3 years and younger. Parents have a relaxation area with complimentary coffee and tea.
Jump Planet offers a super party for up to 24 guests for two and a quarter hours for either $210 or $270. A weekday mini party -- up to 16 guests -- costs $170.
Jump Planet's full party packages include invitations, cups, plates, napkins and utensils, a party room, set up and clean up, and a host. Birthday cake and ice cream can be brought in free of charge. There is an extra charge to bring in hot food.
3-2-1 Bounce
1111 80th St. SW, Suite 200, Everett; 425-438-0321;
3-2-1 Bounce offers a large play arena with eight inflatable game pieces, along with air hockey, basketball free throw and foosball gaming area.
A party of up to 26 participants for two hours costs $210 Mondays through Thursdays, and $255 Fridays through Sundays and holidays. A 16-person party costs $175 Mondays through Thursdays.
3-2-1 Bounce provides napkins, plates and forks, and a host; they will provide pizza at an additional charge. You can bring a birthday cake and other specific snacks but no other outside food is permitted.
Bounce House WA
P.O. Box 1793, Snohomish; 425-280-2861;
Bounce House WA is family-owned and serves Stanwood to Seattle.
Rates to rent an inflatable house or castle range from $135 for four hours Friday through Sunday to $275 for an 18-foot slide for four hours Friday through Sunday.
Bounce House is based in Lake Stevens and delivers for free within a 5-mile radius. Delivery fees outside the 5-mile radius are $10 for up to 10 miles. Add $5 for each 5 miles farther up to $30 for a 30-mile delivery.
Jungle Playland
2901 Martin Road, Mount Vernon; 360-848-6559;
The main inside attraction at Jungle Playland is not an inflatable, but it's so fun it's worth mentioning here.
This game structure is three stories high with state of the art soft play equipment and a "tropical rain ballpit." Jungle Playland also has a "Lil Jungle" area for toddlers and a 1,000-square-foot Super Space Maze.
They recently added an outdoor water splash park and a climbing wall.
Jungle Playland has a full concession area with pizzas, hamburgers, grilled chicken burgers, fries and dogs, chicken nuggets and other snacks. No outside food is allowed other than dessert and ice cream.
A basic birthday party package starts at $9.95 per child -- a minimum of six children is required -- and includes 75 minutes in a private party room plus play time, a beverage for each child, and plates, napkins and utensils. The birthday child can select a free gift from the toy display and 20 free tokens for the Playland's arcade area.
