Another top prep player from the state of Washington has turned his back on the Huskies.
Skyline quarterback Max Browne, who is considered the state's top recruit among the Class of 2013, announced Wednesday night that he will sign with USC. Browne was considering the Trojans, Oklahoma and Alabama along with the University of Washington.
UW already has two well-regarded quarterbacks joining the team this fall, with Mercer Island's Jeff Lindquist and Denver product Cyler Miles as cornerstones of the 2012 recruiting class.
Rivals.com ranked Browne as the top quarterback in the nation among current high school juniors, putting him at No. 8 overall among all positions. As a junior, the 6-foot-5, 202-pound Browne threw for more than 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns.
He's the second in-state star to sign with USC in as many years. Lakes High School offensive lineman Zach Banner, a member of the Class of 2012, turned down the Huskies in favor of USC a few months ago. The top four in-state recruits in the Class of '12, according to Rivals, signed with schools outside the state.
