Have you dreamed of backpacking along California's famed John Muir Trail?
You can learn about the beautiful trail that winds along the spine of the Sierra Nevada for more than 200 miles at a free talk at Alderwood's REI store Tuesday evening.
REI's Eric Brunson presents the talk with photos of the Muir trail and other hikes in the High Sierra, and offers tips on planning your trip, from books and maps to permits and supplies.
He'll have information on trailheads, supply drop locations, weather and critters you may meet.
The John Muir talk goes from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Alderwood REI, 3000 184th St. SW, Ste. 952, Lynnwood.
Although it is free you must register, as space is limited. Call 425-640-6200 or go online to www.rei.com/stores/35.
