You can learn how to make and stitch your own book covers at a day-long workshop on Saturday in Clinton.
Artists Susanne Newbold and Sandra Whiting will teach the basics of bookbinding, including stitching styles. The covers are made using handmade papers and collage items, and the pages are acid-free paper, perfect for sketching or painting.
The class will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at their Sweetwater Creek Farm Studio, 7960 Scatchet Head Road, Clinton, at the south end of Whidbey Island near the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry dock.
Sign up at 360-579-2395 or email sandymwhiting@gmail.com.
The class costs $85 plus a $20 fee for supplies.
