Residents, business owners and others from the community can join Mountlake Terrace city officials for a cup of coffee and hear what's happening in the city.
The casual event is scheduled from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Recreation Pavilion Jungle Room, 5303 228th Street SW.

Free business workshop Jan. 20: Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick is planning to host a free business workshop on entrepreneurial planning.
This is the first of four business workshops hosted by Mayor Eslick to help the small business owners succeed. The workshop is set from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 at the Sultan Visitors Information Center, 320 Main Street.
Eslick is the founder of GROW Washington, a not-for-profit organization created to help Washington entrepreneurs become sustainable businesses. There is limited space available at the workshop.

College plans MLK Jr. Day event: Everyone is invited to join students, faculty and staff to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Jan. 18 at Everett Community College.
Speaker Barry Scott from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. plans to present a tribute to King's life, followed by a question and answer session in Baker Hall, room 120.
During the presentation, Scott is set to speak about the civil rights movement of the 1960s and perform portions of King's most famous speeches.
The free event is presented by EvCC's Student Activities Programs Board and Outreach, Diversity and Equity Center. The college is located at 2000 Tower St. Follow the signs to event parking.
