Darrington volleyball garners honors

Darrington middle blocker Jessica Brooks was named co-MVP and Darrington coach Greg Powell was named coach of the year as the Northwest 1A/2B All-League teams were announced on Monday.

Brooks, who helped lead the Loggers to a third-place finish in the 2B state tournament, shared MVP honors with La Conner's Priscilla Ponce-Venegas. She also made All-League first team.

Darrington libero Jill Goldman and outside hitter Brandy Hadaway joined Brooks on the first team. Setter Riley Anderson, outside hitter Monica Franke and middle blocker Amy Miles were named to the second team.
