EVERETT -- Everett Community College’s Corporate and Continuing Education Center has received funding to deliver training for up to 24 individuals in the area of basic and intermediate electronics and troubleshooting. The training prepares participants for careers as aviation test technicians, functional testers and related positions.
The competitive grant, which pays for the tuition of qualified participants, was funded by the governor’s aerospace 10 percent dollars and administered in partnership with Workforce Development Council of Snohomish County.
"This funding has helped us expand of our basic electronics and troubleshooting course to include networking and intermediate troubleshooting, creating a more comprehensive 130-hour program to meet industry needs," said Ray Kubista, the program's manager. "The program was designed with industry input and has produced great success getting students recruited and hired directly out of the classes."
Training will start as early as Sept. 6. Additional training opportunities will continue through fall and winter.
In addition to the grant, EvCC's Corporate and Continuing Education Center is delivering the program as open-enrollment for individuals and as customized group employee training for local companies. New courses begin in September and January. Additional classes can be made available based on demand. Companies and individuals interested in the training should contact Ray Kubista at
