Would you like benefits with that?

Take the initiative: Sign and say cheese: Initiative signature herder Tim Eyman has until June 28 to collect a total of 1,793 valid autographs from Mukilteo voters to put a measure on the ballot that would stop the city from installing red-light cameras. He had collected 1,909, but about 400 were invalid.

If the measure is ultimately successful, maybe Eyman would be interested in buying the cameras so he could snap a picture of petition signers to speed up the verification process.

Would you like benefits with that? With kids having to compete with out-of-work adults in the job market, finding employment is even more difficult. Young job hunters will find some tips.

Don't hesitate to take a job, even if it's not an ideal situation. Sure fast food's a dark hole, but you get to keep the name tag when you quit.

What's in a name? The Herald's “aptonym” series is back with new examples of people whose names aptly fit their careers. We start today with Roch (pronounced “Rock”) Player, who works as an geotechnical engineer.

We were hoping to convince reporter Theresa Goffredo to write about our cousins, Ilene and Ben Dover. They're Pilates instructors.
